After the Turkish government banned all Pride celebrations on June 20, over 300 people who took to the streets for a 'Resistence' March were detained by police forces. Violence was quite widely used and the march participants were detained and held overnight in jail. This year should have marked the 30th anniversary celebration of Istanbul Pride.
Update: On 27 June, reports suggest that all protestors have today been released.
