On 21 November, it was reported that the caretaker Minister of Interior, Bassam Mawlawi, banned an LGBTQI conference from taking place. This goes against the Shura Council’s decision, announced a few days before, to suspend Bassam Mawlawi’s previous instruction to ban LGBTQI events in June.
