France: Feminist anger at President Macron’s « demographic rearmament » plan

During a press conference on January 16 2024, French President Macron vowed to boost the country's birthrate through a "demographic rearmament" plan to include an extended parental "childbirth leave". President Macron’s speech and martial vocabulary sparked fears and anger among feminists who allege his plan threatens women’s bodily autonomy.
