On the 15th of February 2024, senators voted against the implementation of menstrual leave (206 against 117). The proposed legislation aimed to introduce arrangements for teleworking or task adjustments for women experiencing "dysmenorrhea, including endometriosis," along with the creation of specific sick leave (up to a total of 13 days annually).
