On April 30, Mathilde Panot, leader of the La France Insoumise (LFI), and Rima Hassan, LFI candidate for the European Parliament, were questioned by the judicial police for “advocating terrorism." Rima Hassan lamented "the criminalisation of voices speaking out on the Palestinian issue." Since October 7, there has been a surge in reports and complaints for "advocacy of terrorism." The Paris Prosecutor's Office, which handles most of these cases, currently reports 386 investigations related to the Palestinian cause (against 500 cases across all types of incident in total for 2022).
