9 March 2021: the SHINE Institute, working on women’s empowerment, had its educational centre in Idlib forcibly closed down by the Salvation Government of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.172 SHINE stated that the closure was due to unfounded accusations about its activities on International Women’s Day.173 SHINE has its headquarters in the US.
