On 2 June, it was reported that the Moroccan Ministry of Culture decided to withdraw Fatima Zahra Amzkar’s novel ‘Lesbian Diaries’ from appearing at the Rabat International Book Fair, following an online homophobic campaign against it under the hashtag #NotoHomosexuality. Amzkar’s book addresses the challenges facing the LGBTQI+ community in Morocco.
