12 May 2021: Pro-independence Sahrawi woman human rights defender, Sultana Khaya, had her house raided by Moroccan security forces during which she was subjected to sexual assault and her sister was raped. Another raid had taken place two days previously. She advocates for women’s rights and Western Sahara’s right to self-determination.
