On 15 September, President Kais Saied passed a new electoral law by presidential decree. Tens of feminist associations, including the Association Tunisienne des Femmes Démocrates (ATFD) have condemned the new law as it does not stipulate gender parity among candidates. They highlighted that the inclusion of strict gender parity guarantees constituted one of the achievements of the previous voting system.
