Spain: Eurovision entry song condemned as sexist by feminists

Spain’s Eurovision song, approved by the Spanish state broadcaster RTVE and the European Broadcasting Union, was condemned as sexist by a number of feminist organisations.

The Feminist Movement of Madrid described the lyrics, which use the term Zorra (“bitch” in English) 45 times, as “verbal violence against women.” It described public channel’s broadcasting of the term as an attempt to normalise children and adolescents’ use of the term.
