11 May 2021: The Public Prosecution released the suspects in the “Fairmont” rape case and suspended the investigation, stating insufficient evidence. The case refers to an alleged gang rape at the Fairmont Hotel in 2014. During the investigation, witnesses were arrested, accused of “deviant behaviour,” allegedly forced to undergo rectal examinations and smeared by media.
