Targeting of feminists in Lyon by far-right groups.

Members of feminist associations are living in “a reign of fear” due to facing public and online violence in Lyon. They are targeted at gatherings in public, as well as in online (smearing) campaigns, facing insults, death treats and robbery. At the university, feminist associations are forced to work ‘underground’, as students are too afraid of violence to publicly be associated with the organisations. Reports of social media show men posing with firearms with texts stating they were preparing for the “next left demonstration”. Contrary to demands, the government has remained silent.
