5 April 2021: More than 20 women were arrested during a police raid of “Rosa Women’s Association” in Diyarbakır province. This included the arrest of six women’s rights activists on charges related to terrorism. The association works on violence against women and the head of the organisation was reported saying that the raid – the latest in a series of attacks – aimed to prevent an action opposing the withdrawal from the Istanbul Convention.
