Algeria’s Minister of Culture has pulled the film Barbie from cinemas for allegedly violating « moral standards » of Algerian society with scenes intended for an “adult audience” and allusions to homosexuality. The film’s screening had been approved by the national viewing commission, and the film was screened for three weeks and viewed by 40,000 Algerians before being removed.
