4 May 2021: Jordanian police arrested Syrian activist and former detainee Hasna Al-Hariri and moved her to a refugee camp, from which she fears she will be deported back to Syria. It was reported that she had been told to stop “illegal activities”. She had received an order to leave Jordan the previous month by the secret services, who said she was wanted by the Syrian regime. She is known for being one of the few women to have spoken out about torture and instances of rape in Syrian prisons.
