The state agency that monitors radio and TV – RTUK (Turkey’s Radio and Television Supreme Council) has fined digital streaming platforms including Netflix and Amazon Prime for allegedly promoting homosexuality, for productions addressing LGBTIQ+issues, and for “normalising obscenity” and undermining Turkish “moral values”.
