An article by the Guardian, published in July, details stories of Turkish women who are being prevented from access to free and safe abortions. In Turkey, abortion is legal for all women up to week 10 of pregnancy, and it should be freely offered by public hospitals. However, this does not happen in practice in many areas of Turkey, where there is a de facto ban.
